Answer: It all depends on what you are looking to accomplish. Do you need another bedroom, a
larger kitchen or an additional garage? It might be worth getting prices from a contractor. However,
you should also call your realtor to make sure your neighborhood warrants you making such a large
capital investment.
Question: What commission do you charge?
Answer:In Connecticut, all commissions are negotiable. Prestige Properties' fees typically
are 6% on resale homes, and 5% on new construction.
Question: How will I know who is showing my home?
Answer: All appointments are made through our office. Our appointment sheet has the agent's
name, company, date and time, and phone number. In Hartford County, the new electronic lock boxes
also record the agent’s name, agency, phone number, and date and time your house was shown.
Question: How will I know what buyers are saying about the price and condition of my home?
Answer: Agents at Prestige Properties will call you, e-mail you, or give you a written
report on feedback from both the showing agent and the potential buyer.
